Homebound Missions February 2010 Newsletter
1800 Pounds of Donations Shipped for Haiti
Since the Earthquake in Haiti, Homebound Missions has been blessed by individuals, churches, organizations all over this country who have a heart to do something that will make a difference for the Haitian people.
Our basement, which serves as the distribution center was so full that we could hardly move to even process the donations. Then neighbors and family came together to get the job done.
The donations were from the heart, personal care packages in the hundreds, medical supplies, crutches, wheel chairs, canes, prosthetic limbs, and food.
We have sent the donations out as follows:
Food for the Poor (30 boxes and 1 pallet)
Almost all medical supplies
For His Glory (10 boxes)
Personal care packages, formula, clothing, baby supplies, diapers.
Three Angel's (4 boxes)
Food and medical supplies that are urgently needed/ requested by Dr Jack.
We also have 2000 lbs of fabric that we will be preparing to ship this week. Please pray for the Lord to intervene on our behalf. The sewing school needs the fabric. They are up and running and low on supplies. I am going to contact MAF (Mission Aviation Flights) to see if they can fly them in for us. The issues we are concerned with are the cost and Customs. Beth McHoul is working on the other end to find alternatives as well.

Our neighbors Dot and Kevin. Dot is sorting medical donations and Kevin is washing a prosthetic leg before packing. Ron, my dad is preparing a wheel chair for shipping.
Homebound Missions New Blog
Tyler has created a brand new blog for me at www.hmblog.org , and it is absolutely beautiful. The new address should be very user friendly. We have transferred some of the older material, but will rewrite many of the posts, updated.
The new blog has a Categories List, so you can search for posts by subject, such as: Adoption, The Least of These, Ministry Highlights, From the Home, Recommended Learning, and Donations. We will also have handy links of all the ministries that we post about.
We hope to use the Homebound Missions Blog as a tool for encouraging missions around the world from the home; to bring awareness of the needs, and ideas for action that the entire family can participate in. And, on a lighter note, add some From the Home elements that you and your family can enjoy together.
I have posted a video today concerning the rebuilding of Haiti. It is long, but very worthwhile.
Collecting Donations for Haiti

If you have been wondering how you might be able to collect donations for Haiti, I have an idea for you. I got this idea from Ella Thayer of Worcester, MA. She donated 50 pair of crutches canes, walkers and even prosthetic legs to HM's, for Haiti with this idea.
Go to Craig’s List and post in the Wanted section of your area. You may copy the post below for your convenience.
Wanted: Donations for Haiti
We are presently collecting the following items for Haiti, crutches, walkers, wheel chairs, crib sheets, baby formula, twin flat sheets, summer clothing, bottles, diapers, diaper pins, small baby toys, bar soap, toiletries, unused/unopened medical supplies, vitamins (child/ adult), school supplies, shoes (new & gently used), and baby food.
These donations are being collected for Homebound Missions to source the Maison des Enfants de Dieu orphanage in PAP also known as For His Glory Adoption Outreach, Heartline ministries and Three Angel's Medical Clinics also in PAP. If you would like a tax receipt simply tape your name and address to your donation.
A box is conveniently located at the front of our house at____________________________ . You may drop your items off at any time. Thank you very much. If you have any questions you may call Kathy @ 508.731.5642.
You do not need to list your name or telephone number unless you choose. Craig's List will require your e-mail even if hidden, but feel free to just forward them to me at
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
if you do not want to have to answer them.
Then with your children…
Take a large box and decorate it, Donations for Haiti , and place it out front. You can empty it at your leisure. You can ship/drop the donations off to Homebound Missions or call us to pick them up.
Yes, feel free to use this idea for another ministry; just make sure to change the information to state those details.
If we could get people doing this on behalf of Homebound Missions we could continue to raise the donations Haiti needs. The orphanages that are taking children again are taking them knowing they will be long term residents, which is very costly. The more supplies we can provide the lighter we can make that burden and the better for those children. Thank you for all your efforts on their behalf.

It was with great restraint that I haven't name dropped in regards to the donations we have received. It is because I have not had the time to get permission to do so. Thank you. Homebound Missions is blessing Haiti because of your generosity and kindness. The donations we have received are over the top in generosity, thoughfulness, and caring. Tyler and I are so very blessed to have you entrusting us, for Haiti.
