Dozens of Diapers

The need for diapers in impoverished countries is tremendous, especially at orphanages. For example, we know of one orphanage that uses 9,600 diapers per month.

Disposable diapers are financially out of reach, not to mention the negative environmental and health impact they have on these countries. For many orphanages, the solution is to leave the babies without diapers. However this causes unsanitary conditions for both the baby and the orphanage. Through our ministry, Dozens of Diapers, Homebound Missions donates cloth diapers to orphanages in Haiti, India, Portugal, and Asia.

You can help us by sewing cloth diapers using our simple pattern:

Donation tips

• Only use cotton fabric (cotton flannel adds an extra soft touch)

• Start a sewing club or expand your Fabric to Frocks club to include diapers

• Purchase fabric on sale or from discount fabric stores ($1.00 per yard or less)

• Use your scraps and do not worry about fabric flaws

• Some of our sewing groups make diapers and dresses to match
